Taber and Megan Jean's Dockside Inn Wedding - York, Maine

A few years ago Megan Jean hired us to do some portraits of her for her for promotional purposes. MJ is an incredible artist (both painter and tattoo artist) and I loved that from the start she trusted our vision and let us do our thing. A few years later we had the idea for a stylized rock and roll inspired bridal shoot and we invited MJ and her then boyfriend Taber to shoot with us. Shortly after Taber asked MJ to marry him and we were thrilled when they asked us to document their July 1 wedding at the Dockside Inn in York, ME. As soon as we arrived MJ again reassured me that we should just do our thing and that she completely trusted us. She wanted artistic, interesting photojournalistic coverage of the day, and that is exactly what we love. MJ and Taber also did a first look (which we highly recommend) so they had lots of time for photos before the ceremony and the whole day felt so relaxed (and how gorgeous is MJ?!) . Their friends were so fun (which you can clearly see from the photos) and we even schemed with them on how they could get Taber down to the dock at the end of the day so they could throw him in (which they ended up telling him, but Taber was totally into it anyway!). There are so many photos we loved it was hard to choose for a blog, so there are a lot, but we loved the emotions, the moments, the light and the love we were so lucky to be able to be there to capture.
